October seems so very long ago now, and it was way back then when we were treated to the first action-packed trailer for X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The films sees Bryan Singer make a much welcomed return to the franchise he started back in 2000.
The plot, which kicked off during the post-credits of THE WOLVERINE sees Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) sent back in time by Kitty (Ellen Page), to try and stop the present extinction of mutant kind. His mission won’t be easy though as he returns to a time where the Magneto/Professor X relationship is at it’s lowest. The film will merge the casts of both Singer’s original franchise and Matthew Vaughen ‘re-start’ X-MEN: FIRST CLASS. The film is therefore over-flowing with big star names including James McAvoy, Ian Mckellen, Micahel Fassbender, Peter Dinklage, Patrick Stewart and Jennifer Lawrence.
This afternoon has brought the second trailer for the film, which is set for a May release and boy is it epic. Crammed full of piognant lines and moody stares, the trailer also features a rousing score and a glimpse at several of the new cast members including Evan Peters as Quicksilver. Check it out in all it’s glory below:
X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST directed by Bryan Singer and starring Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Micahel Fassbender and James McAvoy is released in cinemas on 22nd May in the UK, and the following day, 23rd May in the US.
