Earlier this year we saw the Greek legend Hercules come alive in THE LEGEND OF HERCULES. The film grossed over $18 million, but o a budget of $70 million, it was hardly anything to write home about. Let’s hope that HERCULES, starring Dwayne Johnson as the eponymous hero does a lot better. Directed by RUSH HOUR and RED DRAGON director Brett Ratner, the film is taking a grounded look at the legend without any mythological or supernatural undertones. It follows Hercules after he completes his 12 Labours and is hired to train an army.
Speaking to USA today, Johnson said:
The No. 1 goal is to make the definitive version of Hercules. We know we’re going to be under a microscope.
HERCULES is released in the US on 25th July and in the UK on 8th August. It stars Dwayne Johnson, John Hurt, Joseph Fiennes, Ian McShane and Rufus Sewell.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
