The Fantastic Four Re-Boot Gets Sequel Date & Future 20th Century Fox Titles Announced!

 Fantastic Four Cast

That’s right folks you read the headline correctly, the FANTASTIC FOUR re-boot – which has yet to start filming, has already had a release date set for a sequel. In a very bold move Fox have penciled in a 2017 date for the follow-up to what they are clearly hoping will be a successful first film.

The studio also confirmed a date for a second (technically third) instalment of THE WOLVERINE story. Whether Jackman will return to again play the role is unclear, and the star has been vocal lately about the inevitability of the character getting a face change.

It seems that Fox will be spending a lot of time (and money) in the Marvel universe over the coming years as in addition to the two films mentioned and X-MEN: APOCALYPSE a release date has been set for an untitled Marvel project. Speculation is rife as to what this project could be, some believe it might be the stuck-in-development-hell Deadpool project which star Ryan Reynolds is still more than happy to do. Others seem to think that it could be a potential X-Men / Fantastic Four cross-over.

TAKEN 3 is still on the cards and has been given an early 2015 release date, potentially taking over from FRANKENSTEIN, the Daniel Radcliffe project has been pushed back to the spookier month of October. The most interesting and enigmatic title on their schedule though is an ‘unspecified’ Ridley Scott production which has a spring 2016 launch – could this be the PROMETHEUS sequel that has been living in the rumour-mill?

The ful release schedule details are below:

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST – 23rd May 2014.

THE FANTASTIC FOUR: 19th June 2014.

TAKEN 3 – 9th January 2015.

FRANKENSTEIN – 2nd October 2015.

Unspecified Ridley Scott feature – 4th March 2016.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE – 27th May 2016.

THE FANTASTIC FOUR 2 –  14th July 2017.

THE WOLVERINE 2 – 3rd March 2017.

Untitled Marvel movie – 13th July 2018.

So which one are you most excited about? What could the mystery projects be? We’d love to hear your thoughts so feel free to leave your comments.
