David Fincher has reportedly been in talks to direct Aaron Sorkin’s much talked about Steve Jobs biopic, and apparently word on the street is that he wants Christian Bale to play the much coveted role of Jobs,  should he sign on to direct. Our friends over the TheWrap found out that:

“Fincher recently met with Sony’s Amy Pascal to discuss the possibility of directing the film, and told her, in no uncertain terms, that he’d only take the reins of the project if Bale plays Jobs.”

Bale has yet to be approached, but it’s easy to see what a great piece of casting it would be should Bale take on the role of the Apple founder. The long-awaited biopic will reunite the award winning team behind 2010’s THE SOCIAL NETWORK, should Fincher sign on to direct. The film is based on Walter Isaacson’s bestselling 2011 biography of Jobs, and consists of three main acts, each based around the launch of a major Apple product.

Bale is currently on a short acting hiatus after shooting Ridley Scott’s forthcoming EXODUS, due out in December.

From an early age, Matt Dennis dreamt of one day becoming a Power Ranger. Having achieved that dream back in the noughties, he’s now turned his hand to journalism and broadcasting. Matt can often be found in front of a TV screen, watching his current favourite shows such as DOCTOR WHO, GAME OF THRONES, SHERLOCK, DAREDEVIL, and THE WALKING DEAD, though he’s partial to a bit of vintage TV from yesteryear. Matt also co-presents the Geek Cubed podcast, which you can download from iTunes. It’s quite nice.
