Last summer we had the first teaser for Zack Parker’s upcoming psychological thriller PROXY and now we’ve got the first full trailer that’s both equally intense and incredibly mysterious – the perfect combination.

The film centres around Esther (Alexia Rasmussen), who’s viciously attacked by a hooded assailant. However, she initially believes the attack is some kind of blessing in disguise after she starts to find consolation in a support group, and especially from a woman called Melanie (Alexa Havins). The two women strike up a close friendship and Esther’s life of sadness and solitude is opened up to understanding and even acceptance. However, their bond gets increasingly dangerous as the boundaries of reality and fantasy start to cross.

There’s additional roles for Kristina Klebe as a dangerous jilted girlfriend, and Joe Swanberg putting on his best Dexter-esque persona as Melanie’s husband. The film is written and directed by Zack Parker (SCALENE, QUENCH) and definitely looks set to play with your perception and nerves. Check it out below:

PROXY has a limited US release from the 18th April and also screened at the Glasgow Fright Fest last month, we think you’ll see more of this over in the UK later this year.
