Ed Helms has proved to be one of the funnier and more versatile comedy stars to emerge from the past five to ten years. The star has entertained on numerous occasions in both THE OFFICE (U.S) and the HANGOVER trilogy, and was also lined up to star in a reboot of National Lampoon’s VACATION franchise at one point.
Now Helms has signed on to star in a new comedy titled EPIC FAIL from Lionsgate, which he will also co-produce after co-developing the initial script idea. While the plot doesn’t sound particularly ground-breaking, it could be a funny homage to the days of POLICE ACADEMY and HOT SHOTS. Take a look at the synopsis below:
‘An elite but unorthodox Special Forces team take their dysfunction and excessive firepower on a desperate mission to save America — led by the only soldier more badass and more mustachioed than a Navy SEAL: The Walrus’.
While I wont hold out a huge amount of hope for the film, I will happily be surprised by EPIC FAIL. The film will be produced by Nicky Weinstock, Michael Falbo and Whitney Thomas from a script by Mike Arnold and Chris Poole.
