Abigail Breslin and Georgie Henley star alongside one another as the PERFECT SISTERS. Based on the true story of Beth and Sandra Andersen, the films sees two teenage girls raised by an alcoholic mother. With their mother returning to the bottle and taking a new abusive lover, life becomes even harder so the girls plot with their friends how to execute the perfect murder. The girls were later sentenced to 10 years in prison and were released in 2008 under new names.
The film looks to be a very tricky piece, and that’s no bad thing. Obviously people will empathise with the girls’ situation, but the fact it seems to show the teenagers enjoying the idea also brings about many questions. The trailer seems to show a great mix of drama and horror, which often go hand-in-hand. Stanley M. Brooks makes this his directorial debut after many years producing. The casting also seems very daring, with two former child stars taking the leads, with Abigail Breslin of SIGNS and LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE fame and Georgie Henley known for her role as Lucy in THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA.
PERFECT SISTERS has a limited release in the US in Los Angeles and New York on 11th April. It stars Abigail Breslin, Georgie Henley, Mira Sorvino, Jeffrey Ballard, and Zoe Belkin.
