February marked the announcement that Sir Ben Kingsley and Alessandra Mastronardi had joined the cast of LIFE, a ‘biopic’ film documenting the friendship between Life Magazine photographer Dennis Stock and heartthrob actor James Dean. Today we can show you the first official still, featuring Robert Pattinson as Stock and Dane DeHaan as Dean.
The film follows the pair as they travel across the US, from LA to New York, eventually arriving in Dean’s hometown of Fairmont, Indiana. Directed by Anton Corbijn (CONTROL), he’s said that Robert and Dane have really thrown themselves into their roles:
“Rob has an intensity that I think Dennis would have. When I see Rob, I see an inner turmoil that is great for the role. And Dane is really interesting. He has a beautiful face, but it’s a hard face to grasp. It’s hard to see how Dane reads sometimes, and the same thing goes for James Dean”.
I’m a fan of both Pattinson and DeHaan, so to see them work together is going to be exciting, especially as the story’s based on one of Hollywood’s most daring – but tragic – young actors.
