Daniel Espinosa, who directed the pretty decent Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds actioner SAFE HOUSE a couple of years ago, is in talks to helm the big-screen adaptation of Scandinavian author Jo Nesbo’s as yet unreleased novel BLOOD ON SNOW, so reports Deadline.
The project, housed over at Warner Brothers, is set to star Leonardo DiCaprio, who also produces with his Appian Way production banner. The trade blog reports that the story revolves around ‘a hit man who’s forced to go into hiding after he fails on a job and finds himself on the run with his intended target, who unfortunately happens to be his boss’s wife.’
BLOOD ON SNOW is set as a two-title series that Nesbo is writing under the pseudonym Tom Johansson. They are due to hit stores in late 2014, with the second book following in 2015.
