Watchmen’s Nite Owl Circling ‘Ant-Man’?

Patrick Wilson

Part of Marvel’s phase two strategy is Edgar Wright’s ANT-MAN. The film has been moving along slowly for a while but is now steadily starting to pick up momentum. In the last few weeks we’ve had the announcement that ANCHORMAN star Paul Rudd will be playing the current incarnation of the superhero, with Michael Douglas also stepping out of semi-retirment to play an older version.

Today it is being reported that Patrick Wilson star of WATCHMEN is being sought for an undisclosed role in the movie. Rumours seem to suggest that he could potentially play a third version of the insectoid hero. These days Wilson is more known for his creepy haunted house horror movies INSIDIOUS and THE CONJURING, but it would be refershing to see him step away from the genre for once.

Other stars rumoured to be sigining onto the project include Lost beauty Evangeline Lilly and Michael Pena, the latter being toted as being up for a significant role.

ANT-MAN directed by Edgar Wright, stars Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas and is set for release in the US on the 31st July 2015, with a UK date still TBC.
