NOAH is already dividing critics, fans and the rest of you and no-one has even seen it yet. Personally, I’m not sure what approach Darren Aronofsky is actually taking and it’s raising the question of whether we’re getting a straight-forward literal Biblical epic or something darker than expected. His history with BLACK SWAN and REQUIEM FOR A DREAM doesn’t exactly shout ‘standard film-making‘ so I’m hoping for more twists and turns as his history suggests.
One thing we do know is that they’re selling it like your usual blockbuster with clips, teaser trailers and even character posters for the Russell Crowe-led tale. Today we’ve got a brand new ‘motion’ poster which you’ll see in various train stations and shopping centres as the NOAH tsunami of marketing sweeps the country:
Aronofsky’s NOAH, that he co-wrote with Ari Handel and John Logan, stars Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Ray Winstone, Logan Lerman, Douglas Booth, Nick Nolte and Anthony Hopkins. It opens in the UK on April 4th.
