Ah, Mr Tom Hardy, I don’t think he can do any wrong at the moment and so we’re very excited to hear that he might be taking on not one, but two roles in the new film LEGEND from the writer and director of 42 and L.A. CONFIDENTIAL; Brian Helgeland.
If you’re from the UK then you’ll know about the infamous Kray brothers, previously portrayed by the Kemp brothers in the 1990 movie, the very notorious twin brothers from the criminal underworld in the 1950s and 60s. It must be known that Hardy is ‘in talks’ so nothing is fully confirmed but we’re hoping that BRONSON, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES and WARRIOR star might look at it as another intriguing challenge.
Nearly some 50 years ago now, the brothers Reg and Ronnie Kray ran a collection of people called The Firm. They were responsible for endless armed robberies, murders and more protection rackets than you could throw around at Wimbledon. Basically, they were pretty hardcore criminals and Helgeland’s script is set to tackle all the above, plus their run in with notorious gangster Jack ‘the Hat‘ McVitie, who was murdered by Reg in 1967 and their, very much real life, nemesis DS Leonard ‘Nipper’ Read, who tracked down the Krays to do everything he could to put them in prison.
LEGEND is a working title at the moment but we’ll keep you in the loop with the project. If you’re a Tom Hardy fan as well and somehow haven’t seen the trailer for his new thriller LOCKE, then check it out by clicking here!
