You can’t knock Sony Pictures for wanting to get another SMURFS movies into cinemas; after all, the first two movies have make nearly $900 million in theatres around the world. News reaches us via Variety today that THE SMURFS 3 will arrive in August 2015, but will be entirely animated, going against the format of the first films, which mixed live-action with CGI animation.
THE SMURFS made a whopping $563 million from a $110 million budget, but the second film saw a dip in take, bagging just $347.5 million from a $105 million. While not catastrophic, you can understand the studio’s apparent adjustment in tactics.
THE SMURFS 3 will be released on 14th, August 2015.
