He had a runaway success with the film RIDE ALONG when it was released in the United States (catch it in UK cinemas from Friday), and now it looks like director Tim Story is all set to directed a new movie based on the relationship between basketball star Dennis Rodman and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. The planned film is called DICTATORS and is based on a script pitch by Jonathan Abrams.
Peter Chernin (THE HEAT) will produce for 20th Century Fox, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Rodman has traveled to North Korea a number of times and has striked up quite a relationship with Kim Jong Un, and even sang Happy Birthday to him earlier this year.
THR says that the film pitch is described as ‘a two-hander that takes its cues from the antics of the 6-foot-7 former NBA player Rodman, known as “The Worm.”‘
