The first casting announcements for Robert Kirkman’s AIR have been released today with Norman Reedus and Djimon Hounsou signing on the dotted line. AIR tells the story of two custodians (Reedus and Hounsou) who struggle to hold onto their sanity living in an underground bunker with cryogenically frozen people meant to re-populate society
Fans of ‘The Walking Dead’ will know all about Robert Kirkman; he’s the mastermind behind the AMC dramatic thriller that seems to leave fans breathless after every episode. Seems he is keeping things in ‘The Walking Dead’ family as Reedus has been playing the role of Daryl Dixon in the hit show since 2010. The actor has also held small roles in Robert Redford’s THE CONSPIRATOR and horror PANDORUM alongside Dennis Quaid but it is his role in TWD that has put him into the limelight.
Djimon Hounsou is a two-time Ocsar nominee for BLOOD DIAMOND and IN AMERICA and will next be on our screens in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and the seventh movie in the FAST AND FURIOUS franchise.
Producing alongside Kirkman are David Alpert, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and Chris Ferguson. The script is being written by Christian Cantamessa and Chris Pasetto with the former making his directing debut.
