This year audiences are being treated to more Marvel films than we could have ever hoped for, with CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and of course X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST all scheduled for release before the end of the summer.
Out of those four wonderful Marvel films, 20th Century Fox’s X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is arguably the most ambitious. Not only does the epic superhero ensemble aim to correct the franchises many continuity errors, but also unite two different casts that span two separate timelines across the film. With that in mind it’s easy to see how a film with so many different characters can become over-crowded, however I fully believe in Bryan Singer’s ability to juggle the busy narrative and deliver a satisfying instalment (conclusion of sorts?) in the X-MEN franchise. After all a sequel titled X-MEN: APOCALYPSE is already announced for May 2016, which means that a lot is riding on the huge scale crossover event and Fox are no doubt banking on hitting the billion dollar mark with it. X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST will hit theatres on 22nd May. The film stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Shawn Ashmore, Ellen Page, Daniel Cudmore, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, Booboo Stewart, Adam Canto, Omar Sy, Bingbing Fan and Peter Dinklage.
