Ice Cube and Kevin Hart’s comedy doesn’t hit the UK until 28th February, but since it’s already made $117 million in the US and is still in the Top 10 at the box-office, a sequel has been announced. Director and writers are returning in the form of Tim Story, Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi ready for a June/July start. As the script is finalised, so are contracts with Cube and Hart, who can probably expect some big numbers to return so quickly.
Word on the street is that the sequel will be more multicultural in order to appeal to other demographics, as well as incorporating even more action. Story and Hart have recently finished work on THINK LIKE A MAN, while another Hart release, ABOUT LAST NIGHT is currently sitting at number 2 at the US box-office. I’m pretty excited to see RIDE ALONG, as the trailer made me laugh quite a lot and I’ve heard some very good things.
RIDE ALONG is currently out in the US and will be released in the UK on 28th February. It stars Ice Cube, Kevin Hart, John Leguizamo, Bruce McGill, Tika Sumpter, and Laurence Fishburne.
