LEGO Episode Of ‘The Simpsons’ Due To Air In May

Lego the simpsons

Everyone’s going LEGO-crazy at the moment, what with the runaway success of THE LEGO MOVIE with critics and audiences alike, so it’s no surprise the company is expanding, having recently released a set based on The Simpsons‘ family house.

To tie in with the product launch and celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Simpsons, Fox has announced a LEGO-themed episode of the hit animated show, which is set to air on 4th May in the US.

The episode, entitled ‘Bricks Like Me’, will be the 550th in the show’s long-running history, and will see Homer attempting to escape Blockoland- sorry, LEGOLAND:

‘Homer wakes up in a world where his family and everyone in Springfield are made of LEGO. Will he be able to “put together” how he got there and how to get back home before he’s stuck in the brick world forever?’

Hopefully this will turn out to be more than a cheap marketing gimmick for either party, though if it’s anything like the brilliance of THE LEGO MOVIE we probably don’t have much to worry about.

Then again, it is The Simpsons, a show which hasn’t been properly funny for about 15 years, so maybe we should be worried. We’ll just have to wait until May to find out for sure. Until then, be sure to check out THE LEGO MOVIE, which is in cinemas now and stars Chris Pratt, Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks and Morgan Freeman.
