‘Gravity’ Composer Steven Price Hired For Edgar Wright’s ‘Ant-Man’

Steve Price

No matter what formulaic and ball-breaking restrictions are placed on Marvel’s upcoming superhero flick ANT-MAN, it looks likely that we’re in for something different. With SHAUN OF THE DEAD and SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD director Edgar Wright at the helm, we know that we’re in for a decent level of individuality, humour and quite possibly some depth as well. The cast offers further viewing incentive, with Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas playing Hank Pymm and Scott Lang, both versions of the titular character. Word has it the Evangeline Lily will also be appearing (possibly as side-kick Wasp?) along with Michael Pena in an as-yet-unknown role. If that wasn’t enough to get you interested in the only original Avenger without a solo film, then this might tip the balance – the film is set to be scored by Oscar nominated and BAFTA winning composer Steven Price. This news comes directly from Edgar Wright himself who confirmed the GRAVITY composer’s involvement on Twitter yesterday.

With a long line of mediocre Marvel music, it’s damn nice to see them forking out for a decent composer who may finally provide some memorable scores to rival the excellent tunes DC have been banging out. What’s your take? How do you like these apples? Do let us know because we love to hear from all of you; the crazier the better!
