First Footage Of Angelina Jolie’s ‘Unbroken’ Starring Jack O’Connell

A special extended featurette has been put together for the Winter Olympics coverage which offers a first look at footage from Angelina Jolie’s war drama UNBROKEN. The film, which is written by Joel and Ethan Cohen, is based on the best-selling biopic by Laura Hillenbrand and charts the harrowing survival of Louis  Zamperini (Jack O’Connell), the US track and field star-turned-war hero who found himself a Japanese POW after a plane crash left he and two crew mates clinging to a life raft for 47 days.

UNBROKEN is slated to open in the US from 25th December and the UK 16th January 2015. It co-stars Garrett Hedlund, Jai Courtney, Alex Russell, Domhnall Gleeson, Luke Treadaway, Vincenzo Amato and John D’Leo.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
