Melissa McCarthy is definitely a funny lady and out to take advantage of her big-screen successes recently with the likes of BRIDESMAIDS and THE HEAT but can she lead a movie? Maybe…
This first trailer for TAMMY (directed by Ben Falcone – McCarthy’s husband also in BRIDESMAIDS) sees her badly trying to rob a fast-food joint, which is both loosely amusing but also verging on something that only McCarthy can get away with. All we know so far is that she’s lost her job and found out that her husband has been unfaithful. This sends her out on the road with her profane, hard-drinking grandmother (played by the great Susan Sarandon).
There’s also co-starring roles for Dan Aykroyd, Allison Janney, Kathy Bates, and Toni Collette. Check out the trailer below and scroll down for the poster!
TAMMY is released in UK cinemas on July 4th 2014
