We already know that Ben McKenzie will play James Gordon in the upcoming TV series Gotham from Fox, and now we can confirm as to who is playing Oswald Cobblepot/ The Penguin and Bruce Wayne’s butler Alfred Pennyworth in the show.

Britain’s own Sean Pertwee (above will don a suit and play Alfred, while Robin Lord Taylor (The Walking Dead), pictured below,  will play Cobblepot.

Pertwee is a veteran of the screen, having appeared in Neil Marshall’s DOG SOLDIERS, EVENT HORIZON, and most recently, ALAN PARTRIDGE: ALPHA PAPA. He is also the son of Jon Pertwee, the late Doctor Who actgor. Alfred is described as ‘a tough-as-nails ex-marine from East London, who has loyally served the Waynes. Now, in the wake of their tragic deaths, he’s fiercely protective of the young Bruce Wayne.’

Fox have also released a character description for Taylor’s character of Cobblepot:

With the brains of a chess grandmaster and the morals of a jackal, Oswald Cobblepot is a low-level psychopath (for gangster Fish Mooney) who hides his sadistic lust for power behind an exquisitely polite demeanor.

Additionally, Zabryna Guevara (Burn Notice) has been cast as Gordon’s boss at the Gotham City Police Department, Captain Essen, and Erin Richards (Being Human, “Merlin) will play Gordon’s fiancee, Barbara Kean?.

Brit Danny Cannon wil helm the pilot from a screenplay by Bruno Heller (Rome).

Paul has been writing for film websites for over ten years. The Hollywood News was born out of love for film and his frustration at not being a very good filmmaker himself. Those who cannot do, write about – or so they say. Aside from the site, Paul has directed a music video (badly), has one credit to his name on the IMDb, enjoys running, driving (now that he has finally passed his test at the age of 33), and of course going to the movies.
