Jay Baruchel, currently starring in this week’s biggest release ROBOCOP, has signed on to front THE TEN O’CLOCK PEOPLE. A delicious sounding old school horror based on a short story by Stephen King. Originally Justin Long had been inked in to star, but that was in the summer of 2012 and a lot can change in that time. Baruchel will play a smoker, who begins to see that people in authority are actually monsters. As only smokers can see them for what they truly are, Baruchel bands with other smokers to form THE TEN O’CLOCK PEOPLE, named after the time in which they have a cigarette break. It sounds a tad silly, and a tad awesome all at the same time, which has me very excited.
Tom Holland directs, who may not be a name familiar to many as he hasn’t directed a film since the 1996 adaptation of Stephen King’s THINNER. However, he is a big name in horror, giving us that delightful gem as well as the original FRIGHT NIGHT and CHILD’S PLAY. Hopefully it will see Mr. Holland become a more regular fixture.
