Paul Bettany To Play The Vision In ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’

Vision

With filming set to begin in a matter of weeks, Joss Whedon’s AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON is finalizing its already impressive cast by rounding it out with a few new additions. We already know that Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, James Spader and Thomas Kretschmann have joined the ensemble sequel and will accompany the returning cast from the original 2012 film.

Now it has been revealed that Paul Bettany will play Marvel Comics character ‘the vision’ in the upcoming sequel. Bettany has of course voiced Tony Stark’s trusty artificial intelligence within his Iron Man suits (‘Jarvis’) in four films already. Now it seems that the actor will appear in the flesh for AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON as the fan favourite android, which makes quite a bit of sense given that Stark was left homeless and suit-less in the closing moments of IRON MAN 3. After Bettany’s hilariously deadpan performance as Stark’s computer in IRON MAN 1,2,3 and THE AVENGERS, it’s great news to hear that the actor will be bringing his skills to life on screen in a physical role. With the incredibly packed out cast of fan-favourite new and returning characters, it seems as if Whedon is almost ready to go on his sequel to the third highest grossing film of all time.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Don Cheadle, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, James Spader, Thomas Kretschmann and Paul Bettany. Check back with us for more news on the Marvel Studios sequel.
