Ewan McGregor is an actor of immense versatility after he has previously starred in films such as TRAINSPOTTING, STAR WARS EPISODE I: THE PHANTOM MENACE and MOULIN ROUGE. The acclaimed star can most recently be seen in AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY and has just completed work on the upcoming action-comedy MORTDECAI starring Johnny Depp.
Now it has been revealed that McGregor’s next project will be LAST DAYS IN THE DESERT, an independent production directed by Rodrigo Garcia (PASSENGERS, ALBERT NOBBS). Although very little is known about the film, McGregor will reportedly play ‘the dual roles of a holy man and a demon who must confront his own fate after an encounter with a family struggling to survive in the harsh desert environment’. LAST DAYS IN THE DESERT sounds like it could be an interesting and captivating character piece and with McGregor in the lead it will no doubt boast a great performance at the very least.
The film also stars Tye Sheridan (JOE), Ciaran Hinds (THERE WILL BE BLOOD) and Ayelet Zurer (MAN OF STEEL). LAST DAYS IN THE DESERT will begin shooting later this month in southern California for likely release date of 2015, you can check back with us for more news on the project.
