Words cannot express how excited I am by the prospect of a CHIP ‘N’ DALE RESCUE RANGERS movie. The original Disney cartoon series that reimagined two of its beloved characters as private detectives was an absolute corker. Great stories, wonderful humour, memorable characters, it really did have it all. Not to mention an unforgettable theme song that they’ll probably butcher by getting the latest pop-icon to cover for the announced live-action/CG hybrid film. A commercials director, Robert Rugan, has pitched the updated adaptation to Disney who have officially picked up his idea. The film would be an origin story of sorts that would most likely look at the formation of the detective agency.
I’m excited and worried by this prospect. It has the potential to be a brilliant family film with lots of darker elements for the parents, such as WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT? However, it could also fall down the obnoxious and loud root taken by nonsense such as THE SMURFS or ALVIN & THE CHIPMUNKS. Hopefully Rugan realises the charm and adoration developed from the property not talking down to its audience.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
