We’ve just brought you the Super Bowl trailer from Marvel’s upcoming Phase II adventure CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER but we’re about to spoil fans of the Cap even further. Yes, we’ve a alternative UK trailer and stills from the return of super soldier Steve Rogers. However, more importantly those awesome five minutes initially shown at San Diego Comic Con and then a little later during screenings of THOR: THE DARK WORLD have surfaced where the Cap wipes out an elevator of rogue S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.
After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy — the Winter Soldier.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER has a screenplay by the returning Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. It co-stars Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo, Sebastian Stan, Cobie Smulders, Emily VanCamp, Hayley Atwell, Robert Redford, Toby Jones, Maximiliano Hernandez and hits US cinemas 4th April. Us lucky UK folk will see it land 26th March. Joe and Anthony Russo direct.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
