Seth Rogen, James Franco And More Join Animated ‘Sausage Party’

Seth Rogen James Franco

If you’re a fan of hilarious actor and comedian Seth Rogen, then you will no doubt be aware of his close friendship with James Franco and his affinity for working with the same actors on multiple projects. Last years ingenious comedy THIS IS THE END directed by Rogen and Evan Goldberg, gathered together pretty much all of his regular collaborators such as Franco, Jonah Hill and Michael Cera. For my money THIS IS THE END was the funniest film of 2013 and any reunion between the actors involved is more than welcome.

Now it has been revealed that many of the actors from the aforementioned film will be re-teaming for a brand new animated comedy SAUSAGE PARTY. The film is said to be an R-rated adult animated comedy which will be directed by Conrad Vernon (SHREK 1-4, MONSTERS VS. ALIENS) and Greg Tiernan (THOMAS AND FRIENDS) from a script written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. SAUSAGE PARTY will star excellent vocal talents of Seth Rogen, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, David Krumholtz, Kristen Wiig, Edward Norton and Nick Kroll. You can read the official synopsis for the animated film below:

“Sausage Party” follows one heroic piece of meat’s quest to discover the truth about his existence. After falling out of a shopping cart, the sausage protagonist teams up with some new friends to embark on a perilous journey through the supermarket and return to their aisles before the Fourth of July sale.

With such a fabulous ensemble cast and a suitably bizarre plot it’s hard not to get excited about SAUSAGE PARTY after previous efforts such as PINEAPPLE EXPRESS and THIS IS THE END have delivered solid laughs and crude humour. From the sounds of it the film is aiming for the same audience as Seth Macfarlane-related comedies such as FAMILY GUY, AMERICAN DAD and TED…count me in!
