Marvel’s latest superhero sequel CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER hasn’t arrived in cinemas yet, but in true franchise fashion, the studio is already talking up a threequel.
While THE WINTER SOLDIER’s directors Joe and Anthony Russo haven’t confirmed anything, and CAPTAIN AMERICA 3 hasn’t even been officially greenlit yet, Variety reports that they’re in talks to helm the third instalment.
Sources say Marvel and the Russos are currently putting together an outline of the third film’s story arc, with Chris Evans returning in the title role.
The Russo duo took over the franchise after Joe Johnston helmed the first instalment, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER. We’ll have to wait for box office figures to hear anything final on a second sequel, but the production and recent test screenings have seemingly impressed Marvel enough that they’ve jumped the gun on this one.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER stars Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, Dominic Cooper, Samuel L Jackson, Scarlett Johansson and Cobie Smulders. It’s due for release in the UK on 28th March, 2014.

Chris started life by almost drowning in a lake, which pretty much sums up how things have gone so far. He recently graduated in Journalism from City University and is actually a journalist and everything now (currently working as Sports Editor at The News Hub). You can find him on Twitter under the ingenious moniker of @chriswharfe.
