The man of the moment, and already of the year it seems, Benedict Cumberbatch has signed on to thriller BLOOD MOUNTAIN which will see him be directed by SEVENTH SON’s Sergei Bodrov.

As this project is early in development, there’s not a lot confirmed but we do know that the film follows a private military contractor who survives an enemy attack in hostile territory. There’s an extra twist though as he has a prisoner and will now is forced to get this man, who happens to be the world’s most wanted terrorist, somehow to safety against improbable odds.

The script is by the lesser known Jonathan W. Stokes and John Romano, the latter who recently wrote the screenplay for THE LINCOLN LAWYER starring Matthew McConaughey.

We do know that principal photography will begin on BLOOD MOUNTAIN this April in Morocco but there’s no confirmation on whether Cumberbatch (Oh Cumberbatch!) will be playing the good or the bad guy. If we’re honest though, we think whatever he does next it will be epic. Bias? Absolutely and I didn’t even mention Sherlock…ah darn!

More news as we get it.
