Sky Atlantic have announced their (rather impressive if we say ourselves) lineup for their newly announced drama FORTITUDE, created by LOW WINTER SUN writer Simon Donald.
Stanley Tucci, Christopher Eccleston, Michael Gambon, Sofie Gråbøl, Jessica Raine, Johnny Harris, Richard Dormer, Luke Treadaway AND Nicholas Pinnock (takes a breath) have all been announced to join the new 12 part hour-long drama.
FORTITUDE follows the story of a mysterious death that takes place in the “safest place” of the Arctic Circle. Tucci and Dormer will team up as the Police force in the town, while Gråbøl will play the town’s conflicted governor Hildur Odegard. It will be shot in Iceland and the UK.
Julia Barry, Director of Sky Atlantic said this in a press statement:
“Our audience loves great, world-class story-telling and so FORTITUDE is a perfect fit for Sky Atlantic. We’re thrilled to welcome Stanley Tucci – in his first British television role – and the rest of this amazing group of actors to the channel.”
We’re happy to welcome them too! FORTITUDE will air on Sky Atlantic in late 2014.
