It’s been stuck in development purgatory for a few years now but it has finally been reported that an adaptation of the classic John Wyndham book ‘The Day of the Triffids’ might actually be happening. Sam Raimi was rumoured to direct the film a few years ago but it’s now been reported that Mike Newell is attached to the movie, which has already been adapted as a feature film in 1962 and as a television miniseries in 2009.
Newell has plenty of film experience from working on FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL and DONNIE BRASCO, and don’t forget he’s a member of the exclusive Harry Potter directors’ club, having helmed HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE.
Is there anyone specific you would like to direct? Let us know!
