‘Grace Of Monaco’ Pulled From Release, Will Open Cannes Instead

With news that supposed trouble was brewing between The Weinstein Company and director Olivier Dahan over final cuts of the film, it has now been announced that GRACE OF MONACO  will open the 67th Cannes Film Festival instead!

GRACE OF MONACO sees Nicole Kidman playing legendary Hollywood star Grace Kelly as she gets married to Prince Rainier of Monaco. It was supposed to be released March 14th in the States, but it had disappeared from the release schedule, now we know why!

Dahan’s problems with the company owned by Bob and Harvey Weinstein have not been kept secret. Speaking to a French newspaper, he said:

“It’s right to struggle, but when you confront an American distributor like Weinstein, not to name names, there is not much you can do. There are two versions of the film for now: mine and his … which I find catastrophic.”

But it looks like we see Kidman and other GRACE OF MONACO stars Tim Roth, Paz Vega, Parker Posey, Frank Langella and Derek Jacobi after all, thank god!
