If there is one thing we love about film festivals, it’s the fact we get to discover films that we might not usually get to see. A film that is definitely catching our eye this year is the Australian film 52 TUESDAYS.
Directed by Sophie Hyde and written by Matthew Cormack, 52 TUESDAYS follows a teenager called Billie (Tilda Cobham-Hervey) who’s reluctant path to independence is accelerated as her mother (Del Herbert-Jane) reveals plans for gender transition, and their time together will only be limited to Tuesdays Afternoons.
Why is it catching our eyes you ask? Well 52 TUESDAYS was actually shot over the course of a year and yes…you guessed it, would only shoot the films on Tuesdays. The actors were also giving their scripts week by week, so the development you see over the course of the film is actually real. Our inner film nerd is squealing with delight.
