I always love to hear about those smaller films that slip through the Sundance net as lesser known before, and then come out with a lot of praise. We’ve been hearing good things about LAND HO! by Martha Stephens & Aaron Katz and also that Sony Pictures Classics have picked up the intriguingly fun road trip comedy…with a difference.
LAND HO! stars Paul Eenhoorn (THIS IS MARTIN BONNER) and newcomer Earl Lynn Nelson. It follows this pair of retirees who set off to Iceland in an attempt to reclaim their youth through Reykjavik nightclubs, trendy spas, and rugged campsites. Sony Pictures had this to say:
“That rare bird of a movie, fresh and funny and moving, featuring the most memorable two characters you’ve experienced in a long, long time. We are also so pleased to collaborate with an important new independent company Gamechanger and especially the directorial voice of Martha Stephens and Aaron Katz.”
Aaron Katz followed it up with excitement:
“Three days ago we saw the movie with an audience for the first time. Sharing Mitch and Colin’s story that afternoon was just the beginning of an incredible journey for all of us.”
It all sounds awesome – and we’ve got some stills to share:
LAND HO! has just debuted at Sundance but you can check out their official site for future news, screenings and announcements.
