Newcomer Scott Haze leads James Franco’s next directing venture with the violent tale of recently released Tennessee ex-con Lester Ballard. CHILD OF GOD is the latest, harrowing work of controversial author Cormac McCarthy, bringing to the big-screen another bleak look at the dark heart of mankind. The film has been impressing on the festival circuit since its world premiere at Venice late last year and offers insight into one man’s disastrous attempt to exist outside the social order. Falling deeper into crime and degradation while on a twisted quest for vengeance.
Franco also features in the cast as does brilliant character actor Tim Blake Nelson and here we have the first full trailer. No word on release dates as yet but expect it later this year.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
