It’s already been nominated and/or won a host of prestigious awards, something quite remarkable for an indie genre flick, but anticipation continues for the release of director Caradog James’ British sci-fi thriller THE MACHINE. THE PACT’s rising stunner Caity Lotz dons the skintight lycra to portray a government-created killing machine named Ava. An emotionless and highly-skilled cyborg officially known as an “artificial intelligence expert” in a near future existence.
The first trailer, which arrived late last year, looked absolutely awesome and visually stylish, with the film co-starring Toby Stephens and Denis Lawson, centred on two computer programmers who fall in love as they create the first ever piece of self-aware artificial intelligence, which is designed to help humanity. However, things go wrong when the Ministry of Defence steal their breakthrough and teach it to become a robotic weapon.
