Muscle Car Featurette & UK Quad For ‘Need For Speed’

Only last night to be bring you a stylish new international poster for Scott Waugh’s film adaptation of video game NEED FOR SPEED, and now a UK quad come racing in for the fast-paced thriller led by Aaron Paul. We’ve also got a muscle car featurette that gives a tease at the crushing vehicles set to cause carnage in the plot that sees the Breaking Bad star’s ex-con out for revenge against his former pal Dominic Cooper. Waugh has a lot to do if his film is to top SUPER MARIO BROS. as cinemas greatest video game transition! Okay, maybe not…

“Need for Speed” chronicles a near-impossible cross-country race against time—one that begins as a mission for revenge, but proves to be one of redemption. In a last attempt to save his struggling garage, blue-collar mechanic Tobey Marshall—who with his team skillfully builds and races muscle cars on the side—reluctantly partners with wealthy, arrogant ex-NASCAR driver Dino Brewster. Just as a major sale to car broker Julia Bonet looks like it will save the business, a disastrous, unsanctioned race results in Dino framing Tobey for manslaughter. Two years later and fresh out of prison, Tobey is set on revenge with plans to take down Dino in the high-stakes De Leon race—the Super Bowl of underground racing. To get there in time, Tobey must run a high-octane, action-packed gauntlet, dodging cops coast-to-coast and dealing with fallout from a dangerous bounty Dino put on his car. With his loyal crew and the surprisingly resourceful Julia as allies, Tobey defies odds at every turn and proves that even in the flashy world of exotic supercars, the underdog can still finish first.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
