Charlie Kaufman, the writer behind ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND (my favourite film), BEING JOHN MALKOVICH and ADAPTATION, has written the pilot episode of upcoming FX series How And Why, with today bringing the news that John Hawkes (LINCOLN) and Michael Cera (SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD) are set to star.
Hawkes will feature as Goodman Hesselman, a spectacular scientist who’s not so good at life. When he loses out a presenting gig for kids TV show ‘How And Why’, he’s hired by studio boss Mendelson (Cera) to help replicate the show for his own network. Not much else is known about the project at this time.
Kaufman can be a little ‘out there’ with his narratives, so it’ll be interesting to see where the series goes. Will it be as ‘trippy’ as ESOTSM? Who knows?!

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
