Yet More Featurettes & Clips For ‘Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit’

Paramount Pictures’ reboot JACK RYAN: SHADOW RECRUIT has looked increasingly impressive with each new trailer, clip and featurette. Tom Clancy’s literary hero will see his C.I.A. origin finally brought to the big-screen after four films dropping us straight into the cemented career of the reluctant action man. We’ve another two tense new clips from the film directed by and co-starring Kenneth Branagh. Not forgetting two featurettes offering insight into supporting players Harper (Ryan’s mentor played by Kevin Costner) and beautiful wife Cathy (Keira Knightley).

Based on the character created by bestselling author Tom Clancy, “Jack Ryan” is a global action thriller set in the present day. This original story follows a young Jack (Chris Pine) as he uncovers a financial terrorist plot.

The story follows him from 9/11, through his tour of duty in Afghanistan, which scarred him forever, and into his early days in the Financial Intelligence Unit of the modern CIA where he becomes an analyst, under the guardianship of his handler, Harper (Kevin Costner). When Ryan believes he’s uncovered a Russian plot to collapse the United States economy, he goes from being an analyst to becoming a spy and must fight to save his own life and those of countless others, while also trying to protect the thing that’s more important to him than anything, his relationship with his fiancée Cathy (Keira Knightley).

JACK RYAN: SHADOW RECRUIT co-stars Colm Feore, Nonso Anozie, David Paymer and Peter Andersson. It’s slated for the US on the 17th January and the UK 31st January

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
