Eli Roth-Produced Horror ‘Clown’ Has Terrifying Teeth In First Trailer!

It’s been a while since Eli Roth directed a genre entry – the last being 2007s awesome HOSTEL: PART 2 – but he’ll return later in the year with cannibalistic shocker THE GREEN INFERNO. During that period he’s also been behind a number of projects as writer or producer with one of them the upcoming horror CLOWN, of which is based on a fake trailer. Well, the feature-length film is now competed and the first atmospheric trailer has arrived and is looking pretty damn freaky.

CLOWN is directed by Jon Watts and follows a father (played by Andy Powers) who decides to step in and put on the clown costume and make-up found in the basement for his sons birthday party when he’s let down on entertainment. Unfortunately, he finds an ancient curse has left him unable to remove it and it slowly begins to take over his body and turn him into a grotesque creature who feasts upon the townsfolk.

CLOWN co-stars Laura Allen and Peter Stormare and is still awaiting a release schedule.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
