Derrickson, Bana & Harris Scare Up First ‘Deliver Us From Evil’ Images

Formally titled BEWARE THE NIGHT before a recent change, the first image from genre film-making favourite Scott Derrickson has arrived for DELIVER US FROM EVIL. The supernatural thriller is Derrickson’s first film since the superbly effective SINISTER and features the brilliant Aussie Eric Bana as a top New York cop forced to team with a priest to solve a series of grisly murders with “otherworldly” overtones.

The intense British actor Sean Harris portrays the villain of the piece and here he is being taking into custody by Bana, as well as facing Edgar Ramirez’s priest. Check out the first images below:

New York police officer Ralph Sarchie (Bana), struggling with his own personal issues, begins investigating a series of disturbing and inexplicable crimes. He joins forces with an unconventional priest (Ramirez), schooled in the rituals of exorcism, to combat the frightening and demonic possessions that are terrorizing their city. Based upon the book, which details Sarchie’s bone-chilling real-life cases.

DELIVER US FROM EVIL co-stars Edgar Ramirez, Joel McHale and Olivia Munn. It possesses US cinemas from the 2nd July 2014 and in the UK from 22nd August 2014.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
