With both ZERO DARK THIRTY’s Jason Clarke and Game Of Thrones stunner Emilia Clarke now nailed on for John and Sarah Connor the time-travelling reboot/sequel to James Cameron’s iconic sci-fi creation, names are now filtering through of those fighting it out for the role of Kyle Reese. This Monday will see rising young actors Boyd Holbrook (Hatfields & McCoys), Thomas Cocquerel (KIDNAPPING FREDDY HEINEKEN), Wilson Bethel (INHERENT VICE), Sam Reid (THE RAILWAY MAN) and Jai Courtney (A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD) all testing for the role of previously played by the brilliant Michael Biehn

Apparently, both Nicholas Hoult and Garrett Hedlund were studio favourites but have declined to enter negotiations for the role. THOR: THE DARK WORLD’s Alan Taylor will helm the film that will split the timeline of the 1984 original film and allow it to flow as a brand new story. TERMINATOR: GENESIS is a joint production between powerhouse siblings David Ellison’s Skydance and Megan Ellison’s Annapurna, with Paramount Pictures also involved. It’s set to shoot in the coming months and will hit cinemas in the jam-packed summer of 2015.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.

I do not like any of these choices for Kyle Reese. I thought Yelchin did a reasonable job in Salvation but my dream Reese would be Noah Segan (Looper, Brick, DeadGirl), think he could do Biehn proud.
