Actress Olivia Thirlby, best known for supporting roles in DREDD and JUNO will play a shy social worker sent to investigate a brutal murder in Steve Anderson’s THE WHITE ORCHID. The crime drama ‘s name comes from the beautiful blonde whose death Thirlby is trying to get to the bottom of, known only as ‘The White Orchard’. Writer/director Steve Anderson previously wrote and produced 2011 thriller THE RIVER MURDERS starring Ray Liotta and Christian Slater and is no stranger to telling a murderous tale.
Starring alongside Thirlby are Janina Gavankar (True Blood, The Vampire Diaries), Brendan Sexton III (The Killing) and Nichelle Nichols (the original Lt. Uhura in Star Trek).
2014 is looking busy for Thirlby with Courtney Cox’s directorial debut JUST BEFORE I GO set to hit our screens as well as filming for multiple projects. In addition to THE WHITE ORCHID she is due to film romantic comedy 5 TO 7 alongside Anton Yelchin and Glenn Close and the directorial debut from Jeremy Garelick (the man rewriting POLICE ACADEMY) THE WEDDING RINGER.
THE WHITE ORCHID is currently filming and is due on screens later this year.
