Japanese ‘Snowpiercer’ Trailer

We’ve been waiting for a ridiculous amount of time for Bong Joon Ho’s English language debut SNOWPIERCER. It’s such a shame as reviews have been strong and every trailer had made it look more and more exciting. Over rumours of cuts, and then not cutting the film, you’d think a film with such strong stars would be easy to market. Even though there’s still no US or UK release date, we can take a look at the latest trailer that comes courtesy of Japan. There’s a lot of new footage here, and it also hints at some kind of twist ending.

The film follows some of the last of humanity who have survived a new ice age by living on a never stopping train. As the train travels across the lands, unrest between the poor and rich who inhabit the train turns into all out war. Bong Joon Ho is responsible for masterpieces such as MEMORIES OF MURDER, THE HOST and MOTHER. Let’s hope The Weinstein Company release this film ASAP, as it should have been one of the best of last year.

SNOWPIERCER still has no US or UK release date confirmed. It stars Chris Evans, Song Kang Ho, Ed Harris, Tilda Swinton, Allison Pill, Octavia Spender, Jamie Bell, Ewen Bremner, and John Hurt.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.

Funny thing is, us Frenchies have seen it a while ago, both in french and english! Very good movie but the fight scenes are VERY violent, with a lot of gore and cringe-worthy sound details, which might be the reason why it’s difficult to sell on the american market despite the host of stars.
