As much as I love the majority of his work, even I have to admit Timothy Olyphant was horribly miscast in video game film adaptation HITMAN. Earlier last year, we learned 20th Century Fox had signed Paul Walker for a reboot of the franchise, now retitled AGENT 47. Sadly, following the tragic death of the FAST & FURIOUS actor in November 2013, Fox have been eyeing a replacement.
Finally, someone has seen the promise of a leading man in brilliant Homeland star Rupert Friend. The British actor is currently in negotiations to take over the role of the bald, barcoded assassin known only as the new title suggests. Friend has been one of the shining lights of the tense television series co-starring Claire Danes and Damien Lewis. Playing conflicted government agent Peter Quinn.
Commercials director Aleksander Bach will make his big-screen directorial debut with AGENT 47 from a script by Kyle Ward, Skip Woods and Michael Finch. Friend can next be seen in David MacKenzie’s acclaimed prison drama STARRED UP.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
