The family friendly version of DIE HARD that became a surprise box-office hit, PAUL BLART: MALL COP, could very well have a sequel on its way. Star Kevin James will return to the eponymous role and will once again co-write along with Nick Bakay. Andy Fickman, the man that brought us SHE’S THE MAN, THE GAME PLAN, RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN and PARENTAL GUIDANCE, is in negotiations to direct the upcoming sequel.
PAUL BLART:MALL COP saw Kevin James’ hero go up against criminals that took over his mall. With a lot of slapstick humour, the film wasn’t that great, but it did bring home the dollars, raking in $183 million on a $26 million budget. Although he’s no Buster Keaton, James’ physical comedy must have entertained some people.
