Everyone at THN Towers has every limb (and orifice) crossed in the hope that director Jose Padilha delivers the goods with his unique spin on Paul Verhoeven’s futuristic sci-fi classic ROBOCOP. We’ve been promised that the tale of doomed, Detroit police officer Alex Murphy will be an overhaul of sorts in an attempt to resonate with current social situations, rather than a straight rehash of the previous 1987 ultra-violent film, originally led by the great Peter Weller.
Rising actor Joel Kinnaman is the lead this time around and here he is riding in with a brand new banner for the film speeding into cinemas from the 7th February 2014.
Go on, tell us you’re not humming that iconic music score by Basil Poledouris right about now!
ROBOCOP co-stars Abbie Cornish, Samuel. L. Jackson, Michael Keaton, Jay Baruchel, Jackie Earl Haley, Jennifer Ehle, Michael Kenneth Williams and Gary Oldman.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
