When Disney bought Lucasfilm from George Lucas just over a year ago, it was announced that as well as the studio making an official STAR WARS sequel every two years, they would also release a spin-off movie featuring various characters from the saga in the years in between.
Things have gone a little quiet on the subject after movies revolving around Han Solo and Yoda were heavily rumoured last year. Now it seems that filmmaker Jon Schnepp has spilled the beans that none other than Lawrence Kasdan in writing the screenplay for a Boba-Fett movie! Schnepp, who most recently directed the ‘W’ segment in horror ensemble THE ABCS OF DEATH, let the news slip during an interview on US channel AMC.
“One of [the spin-offs] is Boba Fett. It is. I know. I know for a fact. I will never reveal my source, but it is the one written by Lawrence Kasdan.” He said.
The rumours are that the film will be set between A NEW HOPE and THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, which Kasdan also wrote.
Fett, one of the saga’s most popular characters, a bounty hunter hired by Darth Vader in the sequels, appeared in ‘Empire’ and RETURN OF THE JEDI where he was played by Jeremy Bulloch. He was also featured in the second prequel, ATTACK OF THE CLONES.
