VERONICA MARS started life as a television series; cancelled after only two season fans of the show have been campaigning to bring it back to life ever since. Thanks to the power of website Kickstarter, the fans have helped fund a movie, managing the impressive feat of raising the target $2 million in less than 10 hours. It is now set for release later this year.
The show starred miniature sloth-fanatic (check out her You Tube video) Kristen Bell as high school student / private detective Veronica Mars. The first series followed Mars as she tried to uncover the truth behind her best friend’s death, whilst the second focused on her life at college. Throughout both seasons Veronica had a tumultuous relationship with Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring), and the film will see the pair reunited after Echolls is arrested for murder.
People new to the programme, and fanatics alike may be interested to know that London cinema The Prince Charles cinema are hosting a screening of the entire first series next Saturday (11th January) evening. For more information on the event check out the website here.
